Forgiveness Despite Punishment

Generally, we ask for forgiveness to prevent the resulting punishment.

But the Bible says and is generally know.. "As you sow, so shall you reap"

If you are anyways, going to reap what you sow - Then why ask for forgiveness.

The USP of forgiveness is relationship and fellowship. We ask for forgiveness because Sin regardless of punishment separates us from God. God forgives and He is rich in mercy and is kind to our failures and shortcomings.
